Hi! I’m Marissa.

I’m a 30-something, social media guru, and use-to-be-teacher. I graduated from UNC with a bachelor’s in elementary education.

Social media management was first handed to me at a ministry school I attended. Nobody had time to run it, but everyone knew it was important.

So, of course, that is how Haymaker Marketing began. I began researching the best methods on how to grow an Instagram account and get more leads on social media, and it worked! I am a self-taught research fanatic, and after that little Instagram for the school, I began managing other accounts. Since then, I have managed social media for brick-and-mortar shops, Amazon product companies, a fabulous boutique inn in Golden, Colorado, a non-profit, and a personality consulting company.

Now I focus on getting short-term rentals (VRBOs, Airbnbs) and boutique hotels on the map on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. Hosts usually hire me if...

They are looking to grow their exposure, so they can eventually take their property off Airbnb and VRBO to a direct booking website.
They want to grow their email lists, so they can contact people directly about last-minute bookings or discounted rates during the slow season.
They want to define and curate the look of their Airbnb on Instagram and TikTok, so their property becomes more desirable and they can raise prices.

When I’m not creating social media strategies, I like a Saturday morning with a book big enough to suit me and a coffee full to the brim (I’m trying to quote C.S. Lewis here—he’s my favorite author). I’m an avid traveler—- Greece, Iceland, and Cornwall are some of my favorite places in the world. I like a good hike, craft coffee, and nonprofit work.
